Personal Lines Underwriting Analyst – Surrey – salary up to £45,000 DOE

My client is looking to recruit a bright, numerate and enthusiastic Underwriting Analyst to join their dynamic, growing digital marketing business to help facilitate further growth through product development.

The company in a thriving insurance intermediary which offer a number of niche personal lines products and take a very hands-on approach to product development and loss ratio management, working closely with their capacity providers.

The role
The core responsibility of the role are as follows:

*Product design and development to include
1.Product pricing
2.Questionset design to ensure data gathered is appropriate for risk selection and claims management
3.Generation of pricing and underwriting guides
4.Production and maintenance of customers correspondence
5.Drafting and maintenance of policy wordings and IPID’s
6.Use loss ration analysts to drive constant product performance improvement
7.Development of product development strategy and pricing report
8.Ownership of product development policy
9.Staying abreast of changing regulatory requirements around product design, marketing and selling

*Work alongside the IT team assisting with build and maintenance of products on the company’s insurance platforms
*Act as a referral point for the customer service and sales teams
*Oversee testing of all product changes before being released to customers
*Assist the marketing team with the production of content for websites, emails and other promotions
*Competitor reviews of pricing and products. Being on top of the competitor landscape to ensure we can react to develops in a timely manor

The person
At least 2-3 years relevant insurance experience in the insurance industry ideally with experience of working with a variety of insurance companies under a delegated authority
Highly analytical with a strong mathematical and statistical skills (ideally degree level)
Capable of managing a varied workload with differing tasks and priorities
A self-starter, able and willing to work independently when required
A real team player
Capable of understanding and working with a high-level business requirements without the need for detailed technical specifications
Strong written and verbal communication skills

Key skills and abilities
Strong IT skills, particularly MS word, MS excel and a desire to learn more
Hold or working towards the CII professional qualifications
Insurance market awareness

Salary circa £45Kpa
25 days holiday (rises with years of service)
